ABOUT.
Hi, my name is Christine Engler. I am a highly motivated, creative, reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic designer/illustrator with a passion for the creative process and for inspiring the world around me. I take great pride in the design work I create and always strive to deliver an effective, focused, and on-target product that fits my clients' needs and goals.
WHY HIRE ME?
That's a great question! I have over 15 years of proven experience working as an artist and agency art director /designer. The combination of years of experience has molded me into a designer that can take on anything with a certain confidence and finesse. I have effectively interfaced with highly successful people on many levels: corporate, non-profit, small business, entrepreneurs, publishing, and marketing both in B2B and B2C.

Need more reasons to hire me? I've got skills. I am up to date and highly proficient with industry-standard design software including Adobe Design Suite. I have designed for both conventional (offset) and on-demand (digital) printing, along with a thorough knowledge of pre-flighting files, prepress and offset printing process.
My style can be described as eclectic. A true mix of rigid traditional computer-based graphics paired with rich art mediums like ink, paint, and illustrations created by hand. I create innovative works of art for a wide range of businesses worldwide and my work has appeared in national publications and advertising campaigns.
I’m always interested in working with great teams, exciting brands, and good-doing companies. I like to take the "mystery" out of designing and will take the time to explain the process. I allow my clients to be involved as much or as little you would like to be. Let's see what we can create together!

LIFE + INTEREST

When I’m not working, I’m usually reading, doodling, traveling, or spending time with my husband and our two teenage kids. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for art and design; I am always working with my hands in the form of illustration, typography, and painting. Still, to this day, you can find me doodling new ideas on any available surface. I truly love what I do, and I prefer to approach all of my projects with clients in a very intimate manner, getting to know the person behind the brand.

SOME UNIMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT ME:

-
I drink way too much coffee. (I swear, I’m working on this.)
-
I’m always running out of space on my phone. (I take pictures of everything that inspires me)
-
I misplace my phone and keys at least once a day.
-
I like to think that I am part mermaid. I love to scuba dive and would live underwater if I could.
-
I love Halloween more than the "Average Joe." I custom create my costumes each year.
-
I wouldn't say I like frogs and pickles. Preferably not presented together.

EXPERIENCE + EDUCATION

When I was younger, I wanted to share my passion for creating art with the world; I first attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a degree in Art Education and minors in Art History and Painting. However, after some time in the classroom, I became restless and realized that teaching might not be my true calling.
I found myself taking on side projects that played in the field of Graphic Design. I enjoyed the diversity and the problem-solving aspect of the work. So in my early 30's after winging for a few years, I taught myself the needed software and went back to school and received a degree from the University of Wisconsin -Green Bay in Graphic Design and Illustration. After graduation, I took every opportunity offered to me and honed my new set of design skills. I worked as a freelance designer with the University of Wisconsin. Eventually, I was hired as an onsite art director/ designer at a large ad agency in Green Bay, doing design work for small and major international corporations.
I loved the agency life, but in 2012 our family faced some difficult decisions. We ended up moving across Wisconsin, where I started a new professional adventure. In 2012 I started Engler Design. I've enjoyed working with various passionate local non-profits, local creatives, and businesses in the neighboring Minneapolis / St Paul MN areas. I enjoy the freedom to select work that has purpose and value. I enjoy the freedom and endless opportunity to work with clients who believe in the power of advertising and creative brand strategy. I am now able to live out my personal mission as a designer, "To give ideas life and form in an authentic, creative and collaborative approach."
